In the Event of an Automotive Collision

At some point during their lifetime, many drivers fall victim to auto accidents. The circumstance is emotionally draining and frightening. There are a few things that individuals must do when faced with the unfortunate incident. If drivers or passengers become injured, they become the first priority. Emergency services must be notified. If able, vehicles should be moved to the side of the road. Turn on hazard lights and use other warning signals to alert oncoming traffic.

The local law enforcement agency must also be notified. All of the involved drivers must fill out and submit a report of the accident. Each of the drivers must obtain the other driver's information to include in the report. Get the personal information from any witnesses on the scene. Notify your insurance company to file a claim. If in a collision with an unattended vehicle, drivers must make the effort to contact the vehicle's owner.
